I'm not really a sneakerhead. Aside from a small collection of Eames x Reebok sneakers and a choice pair of John Fluevog oxfords, my knowledge of shoe culture is admittedly limited.
But when I heard that Louis Vuitton and Nike were coming together for a city-wide exhibit celebrating the collaboration directed by the late design icon Virgil Abloh (one of his final projects), my interest was piqued. Not because of an interest in either brand, but more because it's a way for me to explore a new avenue for myself.
I've recently run into long-term writer's block. Being a news writer between the hours of 9 AM and 5 PM, the last thing I can think of doing at the end of the day is to sit back down at my desk and write a personal blog. It's not like I have disdain for it — I love writing. But after eight hours, I much rather go for a walk, touch some grass, and drink a beer than write. Even if it's for myself.
To help combat my writer's block, I've started to take advantage of living in one of the world's best cities for architecture, art, and design by going on occasional photo walks and sharing my results through a series of photo essays.
Here are my favorites from my walk last week.
