MEDIA CAMPAIGN: DO YOU OWN AMERICA’S MOST SPOILED DOG BREED?

Campaign

The nutritional pet food brand, Solid Gold commissioned a study of 2,000 U.S. dog owners and asked them about the ways in which they spoil their furry friends.

In our research, conducted by OnePoll, an overwhelming majority (96%) said they spoil their pets in a wide variety of ways and 37% treat them so well, they’d take the chance to switch bodies with their pups for a day if they could.

Diving into the data, we revealed that Australian Shepards, Border Collies and Corgis were America’s most spoiled dog breeds. Not only did 60% of survey respondents claim they own the “world’s most spoiled dog” two-thirds of them have a herding dog.

Non-sporting dogs like Bulldogs, Boston Terriers and Shiba Inus came in second place for the nation’s most luxuriated breeds. And in third place with were terrier breeds like Russell terriers, Scottish Terriers and Staffordshire Terriers.

With the campaign released ahead of Mother’s Day, Solid Pet also explored the “dog mom” persona and found that the majority believe dog moms should be celebrated on Mother’s Day just as much as human moms.
